1. তাদের প্রচেষ্টা দুর্ভাগ্য দ্বারা ব্যাহত হয়

1. their efforts have been hampered by ill luck

2. আয়না ভাঙ্গা মানে সাত বছরের জন্য দুর্ভাগ্য।

2. breaking a mirror means ill-luck for seven years.

3. কিন্তু যখন তাদের ভালো কিছু ঘটল, তারা বলল, এটা আমাদের পাওনা। অতঃপর যখন তাদের উপর অমঙ্গল ঘটত, তখন তারা মূসা ও তার সঙ্গীদের দুর্ভাগ্যের জন্য দায়ী করত। তাদের দুর্ভাগ্য অবশ্যই আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে আসে কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই তা জানে না।

3. but when good befell them they said: this is due to us; and when evil afflicted them, they attributed it to the ill-luck of musa and those with him; surely their evil fortune is only from allah but most of them do not know.
